News & Reports

Eighty-six percent of couch surfers wish they had someone to talk to or check-in with for emotional support.

Remember when we used to sit down and have conversations and not just quick texts and postings on social media?

That is what we are suggesting here.  Be gentle and supportive.  Don’t jump in and interrogate.  Use reflective speaking.  When someone answers and you are not sure what the answer means, rephrase it back.  For example:  Teen:  “I hate my parents.”  You:  “It sounds like you are upset with your parents, that must be hard for you.”

The following questions are only suggestions.  Use your own judgment, too!
