Regardless of experience, personality or training, ALL emergency personnel and care giving responders are susceptible to CRITICAL INCIDENT STRESS.
- Review the dynamics of Critical Incident Stress (CIS) as an occupational hazard
- Refine CIS debriefing and defusing techniques by practicals and roleplays
- Compare debriefing techniques with other teams
- Develop coping skills to identify CIS in yourself and you co-workers
- Learn skills in team morale development, training, and practice tools for debriefing the debriefers
This training is appropriate for emergency personnel and care giving responders.
Nurses CEUs and BBS CEUs available.
This training is facilitated by the Bay Area CISM Team and Bill Wilson Center’s Centre for Living with Dying program, which provides intervention, support and educational programs that include pre-incident training, on-scene support services, demobilizations, debriefings, peer support and family support. The Team is comprised of mental health professionals and peer support personnel who represent numerous emergency service and public safety providers in the Bay Area.
