Training - The Art of Compassion

Cost: Free to all foster parents and employees of a mental health organization that works with children and families.
This will be a valuable day of your professional life where you will explore strategies for survival in the care giving disciplines. Individuals, who work closely with people in grief and loss situations, are confronted continually with emotional pain. Dealing effectively with that pain and providing meaningful support, can be challenging and exhausting.
This training is designed to:
- Provide in-depth understanding of the dynamics of grief and loss
- Practice individual and group facilitation skills to support people facing grief or loss
- Address the techniques available to promote self healing after repeated exposure to trauma for the professional
The session includes didactic presentation and group interaction.
