Peacock Commons
We are pleased to announce the renovations of Peacock Commons have commenced!
Peacock Commons is a 28-unit apartment complex Bill Wilson Center has purchased in Santa Clara. The building is intended to serve as permanent, supportive housing for transition age homeless youth, ages 18 to 25 years of age. This includes youth who are chronically homeless, aging out of foster care and/or victims of domestic violence.
We will be posting new videos here as the renovations progress so be sure to check back often!
November Update
Peacock Commons has a fresh coat of paint – well, some of it at least! The exterior of the building has been painted as well as some interior swatches. The building is now a beautiful peacock blue with teal and black accents.
October Update
We've come a long way with this renovation project, as you will see in this October update. We are hoping to have our first residents move in to the apartments in January of next year.
July Update
Renovations are moving along smoothly. New windows have been installed throughout the complex and each apartment has been insulated. The brand new Community Building has been built and will soon include a full kitchen.
June Update
Renovations are reaching the halfway point at Peacock Commons. New windows and insulation have been installed, a new sewage system has been completed, foundation work is underway and the Community Building is now taking shape.
April Update
We're in week 4 of renovations on Peacock Commons. New plumbing is being installed, the building is being earthquake proofed and termite work is wrapping up.
Phase 1 - March 2011
Phase one of renovations are underway. Demolition has begun; walls are being stripped down, apartments are being gutted and windows are being removed.
