Initial Training - Family Preparation
"Preparing to Parent with Love and Skill" is our primary training for prospective foster families who have completed the application process and are awaiting the placement of a child. It is usually held on three consecutive Saturdays, plus one 3 hour weekday evening training.
Your journey begins with the family study, our mutual assessment of the needs and characteristics of a child (or children) that would best suit your family and your goals. The family study is a series of personal meetings with a Bill Wilson Center social worker. Our trained staff will be available to assist you in the preparation process every step of the way.
